How do I get a Library card?

Requirements:

  • Must be in-person at the Library.

  • Be at least 16 years or older.

  • A child under the age of 16 must have a completed Application Form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Present a valid and current Minnesota Drivers License or State ID.


How do I reset my online library catalog password?

Call the Library! We would be happy to help you reset your password, or follow these instructions to do it yourself.


How long can I keep my materials?

• 3 weeks for books

• 7 days for Movies (DVDs) and other media items

Most Items can renew once automatically (if there are no holds). If you need to renew a second time, you may do so by accessing your account online, calling the library, or stopping in at the library.


Can I borrow materials not found at the Springfield Public Library?

Patrons looking for materials should first use the TdS Encore catalog. Encore is a shared catalog of 34 member libraries that provide borrowers access to an extensive collection of resources. The catalog may be used in the Library, at home or anywhere you have internet access. Patrons may also call the Springfield Public Library to request materials. There are several ways to borrow books outside of your library. Please contact us if you cannot find a book that you want. We would be happy to try and secure it for you.


Can I return items checked out in Springfield at another Public Library?

YES you can! Items checked out from any Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative location may be returned to any of the member libraries. Items may be returned in person or through a book drop.


Can I return items after hours?

Items may be placed in the book return located in the entryway of the library. Items marked as "too fragile" or "too large" for the book return must be returned when the Library is open.
